Since 1977 Patrick (owner and operator of "The Carpet Repair Guys") has been perfecting his trade. He has done work for Prime Ministers, Governor Generals, and is the tradesman of choice for 1000's here in the Ottawa region. Patrick was trained by Les Szekeres, a high quality craftsman in the carpet industry from Hungary. Patrick is a family man and also does community volunteer work on the weekends.

Problem carpets must be restretched with a power stretcher, otherwise the waves will reappear within 6 months. In fact all carpets over underpad should be installed with a power stretcher. If a knee kicker is used for restretching and installations, only minimum stretching is attained. A power stretcher gives the maximum stretch output in order to provide a maintenance free carpet. Today's materials require power stretching because the backings are no longer made with jute (a natural fibre); instead they are comprised mainly of synthetic materials and as a result extremely stiff when new. After we come into your home with the Power Stretcher your carpets will finally have the stretch they should have had in the beginning!

2nd REASON: "The experience gained and the training received over the years. I was trained by an old-school European tradesman at a time when (a) you had to "hand sew" all the seams on carpet, and (b) when carpets were made out of wool; these rugs were very difficult to install and seam. I was taught it all—from the 70's shag rugs to plushes to berber. If you didn't do it right you were kicked off the job site. We have kept up with all the new trends of carpet materials. I have laid and fixed carpets from Ottawa to Vancouver Island. I've even installed rugs on boats, from runabouts to million dollar yachts. In cars, trailers, on walls, on ceilings, and circular suspended hollywood staircases. I have done it all and for a long time. You would think I would be sick of carpets after all these years but the fact is, I love this trade and get great joy out of seeing the happy faces of our customers when we repair/install their rugs.
